Disclaimer: this is just based off of what has worked for me, if you have anything you think should be added or know is NOT a good idea, please let me know!!
As someone who has participated in a MULTITUDE of unhealthy weigh loss tactics, many not working at all or leaving my organs in destruction, I finally got around to trying the thing I had been avoiding most: actually eating. Funny enough, since doing that, I’ve managed to get my weight down to the lowest it’s ever been at my current height.
The key to weight loss is all in the diet.
And no, a diet does not consist of a salad and a couple baby carrot sticks. It is important to consume ALL THE FOOD GROUPS BRO. You just need to know HOW much of EACH to consume in a day/week. In my personal diet, because doctor instructed, I focus mainly on green leafy vegetables(& others but mostly green leafy) and lean meats and try to avoid most carbs, sweet fruits, dairy, and chocolate. That doesn’t mean I completely cut those foods out of my diet, though. You bet your ass I eat my veggie burgers with a bun and snack on nectarines sometimes, hell you’ll probably still catch me with my favorite dark chocolate covered açai berries, I just don’t eat them as often. Do as the French do, everything in moderation.
Another KEY ingredient to both a healthier lifestyle and weight loss is water. I’m high key in love with water (even though sometimes I add water flavor enhancers sorry also I’m pretty sure that’s not good for me fUCK) but I usually aim for 8 glasses a day. Sometimes I don’t make it quite there, other days I drink even more idk man as long as you are properly hydrating and not over-hydrating you’re good!!!
Another key to healthy weight loss is staying MENTALLY healthy!
Don’t torture yourself over the speed of your weight loss!! At a healthy pace it should be really no more than 2 pounds a week maybe 3 I think but I feel like that’s pushing it. And this is paired with exercise as well which I’ll make another post about I’m exhausted rn lmao
Also limit yourself to weigh ins only 1-2 times a week, no more.
